To provide quality education as per the commitment of state government, Nawanshahr would soon have a Government college. For this purpose, a land measuring five acres has been identified at village Jadla on Chandigarh road.
Divulging the above details, deputy commissioner SBS Nagar, Amit Kumar said that department of Public Works has been asked to get complete the requisite formalities as earliest possible, so that the construction work may be started after getting all approvals.
He said that the classes would be started from the coming academic session and district administration identifying the temporary arrangements. He said that Nawanshahr SDM Aditya Uppal has been entrusted with the task of getting complete the required formalities related to the land.
Deputy Commissioner, who was reviewing the development projects, also said that soon an e-library would be set up at Barandari garden Nawanshahr for making available competitive books to the aspirants desirous to crack civil services or other competitive exams. Competitive books as well as computers for online study would be available in this e-library, he added.
