Fatehgarh Sahib,February.19, 2018: in a rare case of lust for money, the lover murdered his girl friend's mother and threw her dead body in Bhakra canal to grab the money and interestingly he accompanied the girl friend to trace her mother and it was the girl, who noticed the blood stains in his lover's car and got suspicious, which led to solve the murder mystery.
Addressing the media persons Alka Meena SSP said that last days one young lady Rozy resident of Model Town Mandi Gobindgarh complained to the police that her mother is missing from the house from the last two days and she mentioned the name of her boy friend Gurpreet Singh and his friend Hardeep Singh both residents of Mandi Gobindgarh. SSP said Manpreet Singh DSP Amloh was assigned the job and he solved the murder mystery in no time.
Manpreet Singh said that Rozy, a dancer with DJ complained that she had friendship with Gurpreet Singh alias Minky and he regularly used to visit her house. She said she gave him two signed blank cheques to withdraw Rs. 60,000/- from bank but he withdrew Rs. one Lakh and she also gave him another Rs.60,000/- to deposit Rs. 6000/- as fee of her son in school account and rest Rs.54000/- in another bank account. She said she along with her sister went for DJ programme and when came back home their mother was missing. They enquired from their elder sister also lives in the town, she told that their mother was going along with Gurpreet in his car. They made a search for her but of no use and lodged FIR.
DSP said that the same day police informed her that a dead body of a lady is floating in Bhakra canal near Shutrana town and took them to Shutrana for identification and they identified the dead body of their mother. DSP said body was brutally murdered and threw in canal. He said her boy friend Gurpreet Singh and his friend Hardeep Singh were arrested and during interrogation they confessed that just to grab the money, they murdered her mother and threw the body in canal. He said police has recovered the knife, car having blood stain and the cloths of the accused having blood stain have been recovered and case u/s 302,341 IPC has been registered.
