Jalandhar, February 22, 2018: The craze for international immigration is on rise among the Indian students and to address the same, PG Department of Computer Science and Information Technology organized a seminar for the students of Journalism and Mass Communication, Multimedia and Printing Technology. The resource persons for the seminar were Mintu Brar, a well known media personality, Radio Manager, Harman Radio and Editor of various Punjabi publications like Punjabi Akhbar, Kookabura etc. from Australia and Satinderpal Singh Sidhwan, a well renowned name in Punjabi media for many years in Canada and known for his famous radio programme ‘Punjabi Lehran’. Dr. Manohar Singh, Dean Administration and Head, PG Department of CS &IT welcomed the guests and motivated the students to get inspiration from the experiences of successful persons.
Mintu Brar, while addressing the students shared his personal experiences and the problems which could be faced by the students if they are planning to move in some other nation. He also highlighted the working of online radio and advised the students to adopt the innovations in the field of media in the globalised world scenario.
Satinderpal Sidhwan presented a clear picture of the Punjabi media being run in Canada and motivated the students to get associated with the same while residing in India too. He also talked about the independence of press in Canada and freedom of speech and expression which is exercised there while reporting any type of news story. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra termed the seminar as the great learning experience for the students and motivated the students to avail each such opportunity which could lead them to the path of success. The stage was conducted by Prof. Vijayta Taneja in a decent manner. Dr. Manohar Singh along with Prof. Kulbir Singh, Prof. Sanjeev Anand, Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Dr. Baldev Singh, Prof. Manpreet Singh, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Mandeep Bhatia, Prof. Gagandeep Singh honored the resource persons.
