Chandigarh, February 23, 2018: An Inter-University Sanskrit Competition was organized by the Department of Sanskrit, Panjab University, here today which included Sanskrit Essay writing, Sanskrit Debate and Sloka recitation Competitions. Prof. V.K.Alankar, Chairperson, Department of Sanskrit welcomed the participants. Prof. J.P. Semwal Ex-Chairperson of VVBIS & IS, Hoshiarpur, Chaired the Session and presented his views on Sanskrit and its Importance. Dr. Surendra Acharya, Head of Sanskrit Department D.A.V College, Sector-10, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest.
Teachers from various Institutions Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dr. Shashi Kant Rai, Dr. Devi Singh, Dr. Sushma Alankar, Dr. Udyan Arya also attended the function. Research Scholars and the students of the department of Sanskrit also participated actively. Nearly 50 students from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab participated in the Competitions. The Results of the Competitions are as follows:-
