American Sikh Council urges Sikhs to participate in Parliament of World Religions
New Jersey, March 18, 2018: US-based Sikh organization American Sikh Council (ASC) urged the Sikh Americans and Sikhs from other countries to participate and support the global event Parliament of the World’s Religions (PoWR).
Over 10,000 religious leaders from across the globe are expected to attend the PoWR at the Metro Toronto Convention Center in Toronto, Canada from November 1 – 7, 2018. The event takes place every 3-4 years.
As per the statement issued via email, the ASC said that the registration for the PoWR “is ongoing, except every few months the registration fees goes up as we get closer to the event.”

The ASC can register anybody wanting to attend at a slightly lower rate, therefore anyone wanting to attend needs to contact us at the earliest contact@americansikhcouncil.org.
Furthermore, anybody wanting to speak or present at any one of the sessions at the PoWR, needs to submit a proposal to PoWR only through their website. https://parliamentofreligions.org/webform/2018-program-proposal-form.
The recently extended deadline for submitting the proposals is now April 15, 2018. Anyone interested must do so immediately, as hundreds of proposals are sent in, but only a small percentage gets approved finally.
The ASC has already registered for a booth and will be disseminating all kinds of information on the Sikh Faith and heritage, displaying books, answering questions and finally tying turbans.
