Chandigarh, March 18, 2018: Punjab Irrigation Retd. Engineers Association in collaboration with Homoeo Research and Reform society on Sunday organized a one day seminar cum workshop here at Engineers Bhawan on health awareness to increase will power and self defence (immune) system.
Dr. K.L. Bhargava, president of Homoeo Research & Reform Society in his lecture explained that just like nature which controls the whole universe by its automatic laws, our body also controls all functions of our internal vital organs and keeps itself healthy. He elaborated that whatever food we take contains certain percentage of various salts, metals, minerals and poison which get absorbed in our body through digestive system and play a vital role for our growth and maintenance. He also explained how the fat, proteins, enzymes and other building blocks are separated, extracted and absorbed from the food by trillions of cells which work day and night like a factory having skilled and unskilled workers. They get specific instructions from their DNA for making proteins which include enzymes and hormones that help our body grow, work properly and stay healthy.
Dr. Bhargava further explained that by increasing our will power we can have some control upon our DNA. This can be achieved by adopting homoeopathy, yoga, pranayam and acupressure which, though do not play direct role in combating the disease or killing bacteria, play indirect role to overcome the disease by strengthening the mind and self defence system.
While addressing the gathering, an eminent acupressure expert, Prof. A.S. Bhatia, emphasized the role of endocrine glands which assist and control vital internal organs for their proper functioning. He also gave a demonstration with the help of various acupressure charts pin pointing those spots on the periphery by applying pressure on which we can improve our memory, concentration, will power and immune system. Sh. M.N. Shukla, yoga trainer also gave demonstration on breathing and pranayam exercises.
In his concluding remarks, the Chief Guest Er. Narinder Sharma highly appreciated the vision and efforts of the retired engineers by giving priority to health specially in old age so as to combat the evil effects of food adulteration, use of chemicals in fruits and vegetables etc. by strengthening our will power and self defence system by adopting pathies advocated above. Thus we can avoid the use of allopathic medicines like antibiotics and steroids which have many harmful side effects.
Meanwhile, Mr. A.C. Sharma IAS (Retd.) presided over the function besides Er. P.S. Bhogal, Chief Engineer (Retd.) and Principal Swaran Singh Chaudhary were the guests of honour.
