Sadi Rasoi, a community kitchen service, started by district administration one year ago, with the help of Red Cross Society is proving to be beneficial for the poor and needy people of district. On the completion of one year a function was organized here on Monday evening in which all the prominent persons and donors took participate.
On this occasion Deputy commissioner Mrs Isha Kalia said that different social, religious and other non-government organizations of the district gave their support to this project to make it a success. She conveyed thanks to all helping hands who make their efforts to run this project with aim to provide food to every needy person at reasonable price.
Deputy Commissioner said that it was started on April 15, 2017 and so for 118661 people have eaten tasty and nutritious food at Sadi Rasoi.
Deputy Commissioner said that usually labour workers came from remote villages for work in town, similarly patients coming to the hospital for treatment from the different parts of district and for such people Sadi rasoi is a best destination for lunch at the cost of only Rs 10 per meal. It is also proving beneficial for the unemployed youths who are looking for jobs. Cooking is being done here by 7 specialist women in Sadi Rasoi. She told that the time to serve meal in Sadi Rasoi is from 10 am to 3 pm.
To run Sadi Rasoi, the associations, trade unions, the Arthia Association and the Sheller Association are also providing financial help along with other social, religious and social organizations. She has also appealed to other organizations and associations to come forward to support this noble cause.
