Different procurement agencies procure 52109 MT wheat
Mansa, April 16, 2018: Deputy Commissioner, Mansa, Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal on Monday said that the entire procedure related to the sale of wheat crop in the grain markets across the district is being treated with utmost care by the district administration.
He said that all the concerned officials deployed in grain markets of Mansa to ensure smooth functioning are on their tenterhooks and they make it certain that farmers do not face problem of any kind.
Dhaliwal said that apart from the officials of the District Food Supply Controller (DFSC), every concerned official associated with the process of lifting including the procurement agencies hold a meeting every morning—including Saturday and Sunday—without miss.
During today's meeting, District Food Supply and Controller Baldev Raj Verma said that there is no grain market in the district which is bereft of the basic facilities including the power and water.
Till late evening yesterday a total of 52109 Metric Tonne of wheat has been procured and this process is on without any hitch.
Divulging more details about the procurement, the DFSC said that the Pungrain procured 19065 MT, PUNSUP procured 6065 MT, Warehouse procured 3820 MT, Markfed procured 13854, Punjab Agro procured 8285 MT and the Food Corporation of India (FCI) has procured 1020 MT of wheat.
