Ferozepur, April 19, 2018: Punjab Government would launch the Mission Indradhanush from April 23 to cover all the children under the age of 2 years for complete immunization.
Deputy Commissioner Ramvir said that it was found that nearly 434 children were not vaccinated and now the health department has been asked to start a special drive from April 23 to 27 to cover all these children for complete immunization. Besides that 92 pregnant ladies have also been registered for vaccination under the Indradhanush Mission.
Deputy Commissioner has also asked the officials of the health department to prepare for the measles and rubella vaccination campaign, which would be launched in the month of May 2018. He asked the officials to constitute joint committees along with the officials of education department to aware the students about the harmful effects of measles and rubella. Besides that to cover the rural areas, it was also decided that special mobile teams would be set up for the far reached areas in the district.
Prominent amongst present in the meeting included Assistant civil surgeon Renu single, DEO (E) Pardeep Sharma, District immunization officer Dr Meenakshi.
