Fatehgarh Sahib, April 23, 2018: Strong resentment prevails not only among the MLAs belonging to most historical district of State Fatehgarh Sahib, but among all the Congress MLAs, who belongs to Fatehgarh Sahib ( R) Parliamentary constituency constituted to pay obeisance to Younger Sahibjadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who were bricked alive at Fatehgarh Sahib.
There are nine assembly constituencies Fatehgarh Sahib, Amloh, Bassi Pathana, Samrala, Khanna, Payal, Amargarh having Congress MLAs and two Sahnewal having SAD(B) and Raikot AAP MLAs. None of the seven Congress MLAs was inducted in the cabinet, there is strong resentment among their supporters along with them, though some of them have strongly criticized the formation of cabinet and some remained inaccessible. The social media is dominated with the negative campaign against the formation of cabinet and the supporters of all these Seven MLAs are active on social media and terming this step of Capt. Amrinder as suicidal.
The names of Kuljit Singh Nagra Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurkirat Singh Kotli Khanna, Kaka Randip Amloh, Amrik Singh Dhillon Samrala Surjit Dhiman Amargarh, who all are senior MLAs were widely discussed as probable for induction in cabinet but all these were ignored.
Surjit Singh Dhiman, the MLA from Amargarh in Sangrur district tendered his resignations from party positions. Jaswinder Dhiman son of Surjit Dhiman said the party had ignored the backward classes as there is not even a single minister belongs to the backward class in the cabinet. He said that out of the backward class population in the state, 14 percent belong to Ramgarhia community.
Khanna MLA Gurkirat Singh Kotli, who is the grandson of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, said old and traditional families should have been considered for Cabinet berths as he falls in all the criteria for becoming a minister but a junior person has been inducted.
Kakka Randip four times MLA from Amloh though did not attend the call, but his supporters at Amloh and Mandi Gobindgarh gathered in large number and lodged protest.
Supporters of Kuljit Singh Nagra two times MLA Fatehgarh Sahib, who was hot contender for berth and his name was mentioned by all print and electronic media for cabinet did not find berth. Though he was not available for comment but his supporters expressed their resentment at social media.
Now the residents of Fatehgarh Sahib District and parliamentary constituency ask how the Congress will face them in coming 2019 Parliamentary election.
