Amritsar April 23, 2018: FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), the women business wing of the Federation of Indian chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) as part of widening its reach to various regions across the nation and creating a niche as a pan- India organization for women empowerment launched its 15th Chapter in Holy city Amritsar today .
FLO headquartered in New Delhi has 14 chapters set-up across India, representing over 6000 women entrepreneurs and professionals.
The 15th FLO Amritsar chapter was launched by Perneet Kaur, former Union Minister and Member of Parliament . While speaking on the occasion she said " men should better look out as with invent of Information Technology women are performing better than men in all fields "
She suggested that women should do less back biting among themselves to beat men in every sphere, they should stick together and look for good things among themselves.
“As part of its endeavor FLO to widen its reach for women empowerment especially in the state of Punjab launched it’s 15th chapter in the holy City of Amritsar , the second in Punjab state , FLO already has one chapter in Ludhiana. FLO currently has 14 chapters in various parts of the country including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow- Kanpur, Ludhiana, Mumbai, North East ,Pune and Dehradun with its head office in Delhi.” Said Ms Pinky Reddy, President, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) announcing the launch today .
“With over 34 years of experience, FLO has been promoting entrepreneurship and professional excellence in women through various workshops, seminars, conferences, talks, training and capacity building programmes to encourage and facilitate inclusion of women’s talents, skills, experience and energies across all sectors and levels of economic activity.” Said Reddy.
“FLO already has its presence in the state of Punjab, with the Ludhiana Chapter. With so much enthusiasm in store, Amritsar, the cultural and economic hub of the state is a strategic choice for the 2nd chapter in the Punjab state with several dynamic and successful women entrepreneurs from the region showing keen interest in joining hands with FLO and taking the organization to greater heights. FLO endeavours to promote women entrepreneurs and professionals and assist women entrepreneurs to grow them professionally in the State and the launch of this Chapter will help bring existing entrepreneurs, potentials entrepreneurs and other professionals under the FLO umbrella.” Said Pinky Reddy .

When it comes to competitive entrepreneurship, women in Amritsar have grabbed a significant foothold in various industries” She said.

Ms Farah Khan Eminent Bollywood Choreographer along with Deepa Sahi, cine star of Maya Memsahib fame were the guest of honour .The major highlight of the launching ceremony wasan interactive session with Ms Farah Khan moderated by Ms Vinita Bimbhet, Former President FLO and President Pinky Reddy.
Ms Gowri Bansal was announced as Chairperson of Amritsar Chapter along with Arushi Verma as Sr. Vice Chairperson, Manjot Dhillon as Vice Chairperson , Dr. Surangma Sharma as Secretary , Shikha Sareen as Treasurer and Ms Himani Arora as Joint Treasurer.
