Ferozepur, June 20, 2018: The All India Students Federation – AISF – today submitted a memorandum in the name of Chief Minister, Punjab through the Deputy Commissioners in the state, for implementation of Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme in a transparent manner. In this context, the memorandum was submitted to the Charandeep Singh, SDM Guruharsahai.
Later on, speaking to the media persons, Sathi Charanjit Chhangarai said, it is a mockery with the future of the beneficiaries of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme rather it is condemnable, by stopping the funding. With this, the anti-student attitude of the Centre government has been exposed.
Demanding from the Punjab Government, the AISF leaders demanded the implementation of the scheme in the government, private colleges and other educational institutions in a transparent manner and ensure the free admission of the SC students falling within the purview of the scheme.
At the same time, they said, a strict action under the law should be initiated against the private educational institutions insisting for deposit of fees violating the provisions of the scheme besides cancelling their affiliation and refund of fees already taken by certain institutions.
They also demanded to extend the date of admission for the current academic sessions for those SC students who could not get the admission earlier. In addition, the students with their family income of Rs.2.50 lac for categories including the general category students should also be extended the facility of free education.
