Ferozepur, July 22, 2018: The Ferozepur police claimed to have nabbed three drug peddlers and booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances - NDPS Act on the recovery of habit-forming drugs.
Giving this information, local city police station chief Ajmer Singh said, during the checking of suspicious persons at the Naka put up at gate number 2 of grain market in the afternoon on Saturday, three suspicious nature persons were nabbed.
The nakas are aimed at putting a tab on these illegal practices and senior officials gave the orders to carry out extensive checking at any odd hours even, sources said.
During the search operation of the three arrested persons, 1200 habit-forming drugs – Alprazolam – were recovered from their possession. The police further claimed that these persons are supplying the drugs since long and identified as Suraj son of Kishan, Des Raj alias Sheela son of Sham Lal Vian Basti Shekhan Wali Ferozepur City and Vishal son of Joginder Singh of Ward No.11, Eisa Nagar, Makhu.
All the three have been booked NDPS Act Section 22, 61 and 85 and further proceedings initiated to find more clues about their links with the big suppliers.
