Narnaul, August 15, 2018: Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has stated that Southern Haryana would be made into a development hub and would lead the state in development on the third day of the fifth phase of his Jankranti Yatra in the Mahendragarh district of Haryana.
The former Chief Minister continued to get a massive response on the third day of his yatra which started with Simha and went through Mehrampur, Nangal Kantha, Mandi, Paktika villages and the Azad Chowk area of Narnaul. He also paid his respects at the Mazar of Peer Baba at the Dharsu village and prayed for the prosperity and progress of the people of the area. The people of the area felicitated him with the traditional turbans of the area and Hooda assured the people that we would uphold the honour of the turban.
“The people of the region have always blessed me with their support while parties like the BJP and INLD have always extended step-motherly treatment and not fulfilled the hopes and aspirations of the people of the area. Your support helped us form the government both in 2005 and 2009. The love and affection that you have showered upon me during the Jankranti Yatra is something that I would not forget in my lifetime,” Hooda said.
The former Chief Minister said the people of the region had already seen the work done by other governments and know that it is only the Congress which has brought progress to the region. “If you continue to bless me with your support, I promise you that we would ensure that the region becomes most developed parts of the state,” he added.
Talking about the work done during his term in office, he said the state not only saw all-round development during his term his government also ensured that the rule of law prevailed in the state but also ensured that people lived in harmony. “We brought the state from the reign of loot and terror unleashed by the INLD but the state, unfortunately, elected the BJP in 2014 which burnt down a rapidly progressing state three times and destroyed the social bonds that united us as one people,” he said. He added that the main objective of the Jankranti Yatra was not to come back to power but to restore the bonds of social harmony which gives Haryana its strength and unique social fabric.
I am happy that the people of the state now understand the games that the BJP has been playing to further their political interests and how the INLD has been playing as their B team. “The secret relationship between the INLD and the BJP has been completely exposed and the people of the state would give both of them a befitting reply in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections,” he said.
Talking about development work during his term in office, he said Simha and Nizampur were given block status, approved Sant Khetanath Ayurvedic College, construction of Narnaul bypass, established Aarohi Model School, spent crores for the development Narnaul town and villages and started the first University of Mahendragarh dist
rict at Pali.
While addressing the gather, he praised the work done by former Minister and local MLA Rao Narendra Singh. “Whenever he came to me, he came for the development of his constituency,” he added.
Hooda launched an attack on the present government and said the Congress government under his leadership understood the pain of the farmers and that his government not only waived off loans taken by the farmers but also ensured that not an inch of their land was auctioned. “We would once again free the farmers off their debts and implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission once the Congress Party comes to power. We will increase the honorarium of the old age pension and would provide full electricity at half the price. He also assured the youth that Congress government would fulfil the promise made by the BJP of either providing jobs or an unemployment allowance of Rs 9,000 per month.
The former Chief Minister said the BJP was drunk on power and all sections of the society, farmers, traders, government employees and workers are all disappointed with the performance of the BJP government. “BJP leaders only give speeches but their speeches begin and end with lies and people are the biggest victims of their oil pricing policy,” he said.
BJP used to raise a hue and cry on the prices of petrol and the exchange rate of the Rupee has no answers when the price of petrol rises despite falling international prices and the Rupee plummets to its all-time low. The time has come to vote out this anti-people government,” Hooda added.
