Cabinet Minister Sunder Sham Arora Marks I Day Celebrations At Kusht Asahram
Nawanshahr, August 16, 2018-
In a goodwill gesture shown to the inmates of the inmates of the local Kusht (Leprosy) Ashram, the cabinet minister for industry and commerce, Sunder Sham Arora gave Rs 25000 from his own pocket to the Asahram for completing the construction work of temple on the Ashram premises. Besides ,he announced a grant of Rs One lakh for setting up a leprosy centre there. He was here in the town to mark I Day celebration with the Ashram inmates.
After presiding over the district level I Day celebrations at Nawanshahr, Mr Arora planned his visit to the Blood Donors Council (Blood Donation Bhawan) and Kusht Asahram immediately. He appreciated the contribution of BDC towards blood donation and safe blood transfusion.Mr G S Toor ,founder president and Secretary Pushap Raj kalia, apprised him of the fact that the blood donation complex was inaugurated by the Bhagat Puran Singh 26 years ago here. The minister also inaugurated the blood donation camp organized by the Lions Club Nawanshahr with the help of DYFI volunteers. Terming the blood donation as the noble cause, he said that it would promote the secularism, communal harmony and National Integration. As many as 109 persons donated blood on the occasion as told by the president Iqbal Singh.
At Kusht Ashram, Mr Arora lent sympathetic ear to the problems of the inmates and provided then bandages and medicine for three months from his own pocket. He assured them of the full cooperation from the local health officials and district administration, in case of any difficulty. He also disbursed 13disbaility certificates to the inmates.
The minister was accompanied by the MLAs Ch. Darshan Lal Mangupur and Angad Singh, DC Vinay Bublani, SSP Deepak Hillori, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinder Kaur and Former civil surgeon Dr. Ajay Bagga.
