Ferozepur August 16, 2018: On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the country's independence, an evening was organized in the memory freedom martyrs at the Vivekanand World School (VWS). Classical musicians and singers who came from various parts of the nation including Kolkata, Jhansi, Delhi, Patiala, Jalandhar and other places in this program spellbound the audience with their magical art display.
Patron –in-chief VWS, Prabha Bhaskar informed that this program was organized by the Mohan Lal Bhaskar Educational Society and the Foundation under the aegis of Rashtriya Sangeetigya Pariwar, New Delhi to mark the great sacrifices of freedom martyrs through the display of Indian classical art and singing in this border area.
Various artists including Samarjit Singh, who came from Kolkata to Sitarvadan, classical singer Sameer Bhalerao from Jhansi, Dr. Samson David from Delhi; Gurchainan from Ludhiana; Tabla artist Gurchitan Singh from Ludhiana; Dr. Rahul Swarnkar from Sagar, Arshpreet Singh on Dusha, Sujamy Mishra, Binni displayed their artistic skills in a meticulous and spellbound performance. In the meantime, Dr Kanwaljit Singh, the platform was conducted successfully.
The event was presided over by Sumer Singh Gurjar, Commissioner Ferozpur Division, Brigadier Narendra Singh Kadyian, deputy GOC Golden Arrow Division and Narendra Pal Singh Sidhu, AIG Counter-Intelligence Police Punjab and they inaugurated the program by lighting flame in front of the picture of Bharat Mata.
It was the maiden occasion when on the on the anniversary of Independence day, so high scale artists from various parts of the nation, paid tributes of freedom martyrs by presenting the unmatched magical art performances.
A number of dignitaries from different parts of the state including Deepak Bali, general secretary, Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Mahasabha and Arun Mitra from Jalandhar besides prominent citizens of, Ferozepur graced the event which lasted till late night.
