CBI Arrests A Private Person For An Allegedly Accepting Bribe Of Rs.10 Lakh On Behalf Of Punjab Police officer

New Delhi/ Ferozpure : 17.08.2018 : The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a private person(middleman), while demanding & accepting an alleged bribe of Rs.10 lakh on behalf of IGP, Ferozepur Range, Ferozepur(Punjab).
According to an official release of CBI, a case was registered on a complaint from then SSP(Now Retired), Vigilance Bureau, Patiala (Punjab). It was alleged that the complainant was being falsely implicated in a case registered against him, for which an SIT was formed by IGP, Ferozepur.
It was further alleged that the SIT had searched the house of the complainant and seized certain documents/articles. It was also alleged that the bribe was being demanded from the complainant for diluting the case against the complainant and for returning the seized documents/articles to the complainant..
CBI laid a trap at Ludhiana and caught the private person(Middleman)red handed while demanding & accepting the alleged bribe of Rs.10 lakh on behalf of IGP, Ferozepur Range. After the arrest of middleman, CBI seized the certain relevant documents etc. from the office-cum residence of IGP, Ferozepur.
Searches conducted at the house of private person also led to the recovery of Rs.5 lakh which was allegedly accepted as first installment of bribe at Chandigarh.
The arrested accused is being produced today in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Mohali (Punjab).
Investigation is continuing.
Meanwhile , IGP Gurinder Singh Dhillon refuted the allegations of bribery leveled against him by former SP Vigilance Shiv Sharma on which basis the CBI has registered a case. talking to Babushahi.com on phone Mr Dhillon said that it was a total fraud and planted story. the complainant and the person who was arrested by the CBI for allegedly taking money on behalf of IG , are well known to each other.

Ferozepur, August 17, 2018: As per the information, CBI Team has raided the office and residence of IG Punjab Police in connection with the investigation of some particular case today in the early morning.
IGP Ferozepur confirmed the visit of CBI team to Babushahi.com. Further details are awaited.
IGP Gurinder Singh Dhillon further confirmed to the media persons, “It was not a CBI raid but the team had come in connection with some investigation. They did not inform me about the case or FIR. However, they demanded the file and certain papers relating the former SSP Vigilance – Shiv Kumar Sharma – which has been provided to them. I cannot say anything about the investigation. No cash recovery has been made from my residence and in case there is any recovery, the same must be from Shiv Kumar or might be from his men, who will face the proceedings”.
In fact, according to Mohan Singh, after two years of his asking for Rs.20 government fee from Shiv Kumar Sharma, former SSP for giving the revenue document, he was picked up from his residence on February 18, 2012 and later on he was involved in fake paddy scam in village Mallanwala by forging statement of one Ravinder Singh. Mohan Singh continued to pursue his case and presently the case is under investigation with the Special Investigation Team- SIT headed by IGP.
