Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Isha Kalia on Friday announced to launch a special campaign for motivating the farmers to voluntarily adopt pro-farmer ‘Paani Bachao, Paise kamao’ scheme.
Camp was organized at feeder dhanoya on Friday. Isha Kalia DC Hoshiarpur attended and interacted with consumers who opted for the scheme.
Program was started with plantation courtesy environment club mukerian. In her address she told everyone to enrol in the scheme to get benefit and conserve water. Around 400 plants were distributed by club.
She said that the Punjab government has introduced this scheme in Dhanoa feeder of the district as Pilot project in the state. She said that under the scheme 158 farmers from dhanoa and 55 would be motivated for adopting the scheme from surrounding villages.
Divulging more details of the scheme she said that under the scheme the limit of free power subsidy to the farmers would be fixed as per the capacity of their motor.
