Ludhiana, August 18, 2018: Punjab government is airlifting one lakh food packets on Saturday as part of its commitment to provide relief to the victims of unprecedented unprecedented floods in Kerala.
A senior official told babushahi.com that the relief material would be airlifted from Halwara airport on Saturday August 18, 2018.
This will the first consignment of relief material from Punjab for the victims.
The food items include water, teat, sugar, biscuits, rusks and skimmed milk.
The trucks loaded with food packets heading to Halwara airport will be formally flagged from Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana at 3 pm.
After Ludhiana, relief material will also be sent from other districts of Punjab for the flood victims.
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh committed Rs 10 crore relief for the victims. Out of this, Rs 5 crore will be contributed to the [Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
