Chandigarh: September 12, 2018: India’s leading online marketplace for water pumps “Pumpkart” has planned to launch a unique concept of setting up a wholesale online platform for millions of retailers dealing with appliances and multibrand products in India. The idea is to give the customers a touch and feel experience via the Retailers or Pumpkart Display Van before they place online purchase orders.
In a bid to revise and enhance the business model, the company is now mulling to leverage the use of technology in this industry segment. Pumpkart founder and CEO K S Bhatia told Babushahi.com , “We aim to create a marketplace and put our intense focus on this segment since reputed brands are no doing so. Through retailers or Pumpkart display vans, we want to give our customers a hands-on experience. They could analyze products and then decide on the purchase online as per their requirement. With the view to aggrandizing and capturing market share, we are planning to come up with other business segments at a later stage. We won’t give any consideration to the lifestyle segment as of now since there are many reputed players already functioning in this domain.”
Further detailing the idea, Mr Bhatia said , “Initially, we plan to work in the segment relating to kitchen appliances, home appliances and entire hardware & industrial supply in Business-to-Business (B 2 B) category. We would introduce a pure marketplace platform.”

Our aim is to go PAN-India by 2020,” Bhatia exclaimed.
Adding, Bhatia said, " Concept would be totally unique. We would provide services to multi-brand products through our franchises. This would be a game-changing experience for the industry. We have already set up a few service centers and many more would come up soon in north India. We are actively expanding our team and our focus would on Online to Offline technology.”
Bhatia said that the chance to represent India in the United Nations proved to be very fruitful, “we got some great ideas from the Silicon Valley which would prove very useful in deploying this technology here in India.”
