Chandigarh, September 25, 2018: Indian Jeevan Nedunchezhiya, partnering Aussie Austin Krajicek just managed to get the better of third seed Divij Sharma of India and Artem Sitak of New Zealand by in the doubles first round fixture of the ATP World Tour $ 1,070,040 Chengdu Open (China).
In the closely contested match lasting one hour and 34 minutes, Krajicek-Nedunchezhiyan snatched an exciting 3-6, 7-6 (2), 10-7 verdict.
Indian pair of N Sriram Balaji and Rohan Bopanna advanced to the next round in doubles after prevailing over Julio Perelta of Chile and Horacio Zeballos of Argentina by 6-1, 5-7, 10-6 in the doubles first round match which lasted one hour and eight minutes.
Balaji-Bopanna won 87 per cent (27/31) of first service and unleashed five aces and committed three double faults. Peralta-Zeballos won 73 per cent (27/37) first service and fired three aces and committed four double faults.
