Fatehgarh Sahib, October 22, 2018: Growing Pollution has become a great threat and challenge for the Nation and the State, if we did not take immediate steps our coming generations will not spare us. It is unfortunate that approximately 90 Lakh people died in the world due to pollution menace and 25% of them were Indian and Bangladesh, so it is the duty of everyone in the society to come forward to control it, said Sadhu Singh Dharmsot Minister for Forest, while addressing a function at Amloh town today after laying the foundation stone of Environment park to be constructed on 25 Acre of Forest land.
He said that forest department got vacated its thousand acres of land from the encroachers and Govt. has decided to construct environment parks on these lands. He said that due to the large scale felling of tree ecological imbalance has been created. He said that there is only one way to save from pollution that is to plant trees. He said that State Govt. has taken various steps to save Air, water and earth. He said Govt. has decided to cover 15% of the land under forest area by initiating Haryali campaign. He called upon the industrialists, farmers and common man to wage a war against menace of pollution. Govt. will give free plants to be planted in educational, religious, social and other institutions.
