Ferozepur October 23, 2018: During a press conference in Ferozepur, Sardar Simranjit Singh Mann, President, Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar, addressing the journalists, said the Bhartyiye Mukti Morcha and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) are jointly starting a Parivartan Yatra meaning the beginning of a change in the Brahminical caste order, by highlighting the thoughts and practices of Guru Nanak Sahib who abolished the caste system in the Sikh religion. Mann also demanded the immediate release of Waman Maheshram, National President BAMCEF.
Mann said the leader of Bhartiye Mukti Morcha Waman Maheshram - national president of BAMCEF - has been arrested by the Brahminical and retrograde Hindutva forces unleashed by Premier Narinder Modi in the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat state. Our two parties are protesting against these unconstitutional practices of the ultranationalist and racist policies of the BJP-RSS government of Gujarat state.
He said, on 25th October 2018. our two political parties Bhartiye Mukti Morcha and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) will hold a peaceful protest in front of the Deputy Commissioners office in Sangrur at 12 noon.
In the meantime till Waman Maheshram is not released from the prison in Ahmedabad we call upon the members and cadres of both our parties to court arrests all-over India, he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that Waman Chindhuji Meshram is the national president of BAMCEF - an acronym for The All India Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation - a non-political, non-agitational, and non-religious organization of employees which represents oppressed and exploited communities in the Indian society. Waman Meshram and his organisation Bharat Mukti Morcha(BMM) launched a five-phased protest campaign across the country from March 2017 demanding for discontinuing electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the electoral process in India.
Mann said, we also seek the help of our respective party cadres all over the globe, US, Canada, UK, European countries, New Zealand, Australia and others to give memorandums to their respective governments of these countries, protesting the dictatorial policies of the current right-wing Hindu Indian government which is spreading hatred and terror against the scheduled castes, Adivasi's, minorities like Sikhs and Muslims and the oppressed weaker sections of society.
Mann said Waman Maheshram must be released immediately from captivity in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Nothing less will satisfy the downtrodden and the minorities of the Indian sub-continent.
