Bar council polls : Repoll ordered for Sonepat
Chandigarh , November 8, 2018 : Justice Nirmal Singh (Retd) , observer of the Bar council Of Punjab and Haryana has ordered repoll for Bar Council at Sonepat . . The re polling has been scheduled for November 13.
The decision for repolling was taken after some video clips surfaced in which the violation of secrecy of voting and disorderly behavior of certain voters was noticed.
According to a spokesman of the Council , a complaint was received on the official e-mail of the bar council from a candidate Deepak Gahlawat in which he has alleged that violation of secrecy of votes and disorderly behaviour has been noticed at the time of voting at Sonipat.
Taking further action , the videos were sent to the returning officer Advocate Ajay , to enquire upon the authenticity of the place and the videos. The returning Officer submitting report and the supplementary report has verified the authenticity of the place and timing of the voting.
The report of RO states that it was seen more than one person were standing over the voters while they were casting their votes and also more than one vote was cast by one person. The report suggested that the secrecy of voting has been violated that was very much clear in the videos received from the District Headquarter Sonipat.
In the order it is also mentioned that the process of counting and results of Bar coulcil will be taken into account only after the repolling scheduled on November 13 is over.
