Attari (Amritsar) November 29, 2018: Cricketer turned politician and Punjab Local Body Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu today returns Indian through the land transit route of Attari/Wagah border after taking part in the foundation stone laying ceremony of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib at Narowal District of Lahore in Pakistan.
On his return to India, elated Sidhu while talking to media at Attari border said, “The construction of Kartarpur Corridor between the two nations would enhance “People to People Contact’ besides brightening of chances of opening of Amritsar and Ferozpur borders for masses of the two nations”.
Motor mouthed Sidhu who hardly bother to answer the media query, remained on speaking mode said, “I went to Pakistan’s Punjab and now returned to India’s Punjab and my visit has brought the people of two Punjabs closer. My this visit has bridged the gap between the hearts of people of two Punjabs”.
Continuing his address uninterruptedly to media, Sidhu said, “The opening of Gurdwara Kartarpur corridor is more or less is purely miracle of Baba Nanak as this miracle would diminish enmity between India and Pakistan. After the gap of 71 years the followers of Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj would be able to have direct access to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib from India as this event would give good feelings in the minds of followers of Baba Nanak and Baba Nanak has followers on both sides of border”.
“What else I should say, since it is purely miracle of Baba Nanak who did it which was not possible for the last 71 years. Earlier Corridor was dream and now turned reality. Now there is ray of hope for peace between India and Pakistan wherein Prime Ministers of both the nations came out with big hearts and paved way for twelve crore followers of Baba Nanak to have pious glimpse of the holy Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib”, Sidhu quipped
“Now this is good beginning on the name of Baba Nanak as Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has told me that now there would be no war between India and Pakistan as borders of India and Pakistan may open for people as it would give passage to trade”, Sidhu quipped by saying this all was grace and miracle of Baba Nanak.
While crossing the border from Pakistan to India Sidhu was seen in action, moving his both hands in air like hitting the ball in the sky which brought enormous smile on the lips of hundreds of people on both sides gathered there to watch beating evening ‘Retreat Ceremony’. Young boys and girls were seen anxious on both sides to have the glimpse of Sidhu.
Earlier, Sidhu had gone to Pakistan on November 27 on the special invitation extended by the Pakistan Government to take part in the foundation stone laying ceremony of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib’s Special.
