Fatehgarh Sahib, December 10, 2018: Rice Miller's Association Punjab has urged the Food and Civil Supply minister to direct the State procurement agencies to clear their pending paddy shelling bills for the crop year 2017-2018 worth Crores of rupees lying with various procurement agencies to save the industry.
Nakesh Jindal Press Secretary of the Association said that the Govt. procurement agencies had not yet cleared their paddy shelling bills inspite of the fact that they received the shelling amount from the FCI. He said crores of rupees of rice millers are with agencies and they are suffering financial loss. He said that the milling of paddy for the 2018-2019 has started but the millers are waiting for the clearance of milling charges of last year.
