Bathinda, 17 January 2019: Three councilors, who left SAD few days ago, today joined Congress in the presence of Finance Minister Manpreet Badal in a function held today in the city. While welcoming the newly inducted rebel SAD leaders into the Congress, Manpreet Badal assured that they would be given adequate respect in the Congress party.
Four councilors including Master Harmander Singh, Rajinder Singh Sidhu, Nirmal Singh Sandhu and Baljeet Singh (Raju) had resigned from SAD on Saturday. On Wednesday one of the them Nirmal Singh took u-turn when SAD patriarch Prakash Singh Badal went to his residence where the latter (Nirmal) told him that he was still a part of SAD and would remain so.
They were welcomed by the Congress leaders in a function held in the Subash Market. But on the other hand the congress workers were not seen enthused on their entry in to the party. One of the veteran congress sympathizer present on the occasion reacted and said “that Manpreet Badal is depending more on outsiders particularly people having Akali Dal background rather than on congress cadre, which is a matter of concern for us”.
Present on the occasion were outgoing President Mohal Lal Jhumba, K.K Aggarwal, Pawan Maani, Darshan Ghuda and Rajan Garg.
