New Delhi /Chandigarh, January 17, 2019: In a major jolt to the Congress party in Doaba region, former party Balachaur assembly constituency candidate and expelled congress youth leader Rajwinder Singh Lucky today joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in the presence of party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal here.Punjab Congress spokesman said that Lucky was expelled from Congress and he had joined AAP..
SAD press release said that Lucky joined the SAD along with his entire team including Balachaur Youth Congress former president Ashok Chechi and former Block Samiti members Vijay Kumar and Virender Kataria. He gave a detailed account of his disenchantment with the Congress government saying it had betrayed the youth and reneged on all promises made to them. He said what to speaker of ghar ghar naukari, the Congress government had failed to give any jobs to youth in the last two years. “Even the unemployment allowance promised to the youth had remained a pipe dream”, he added.
Welcoming Rajwinder Lucky into the Akali fold, Mr Sukhbir Badal said the party has been strengthened with the induction of a veteran youth leader who has also served as President of the Panjab University Student Union besides serving as General Secretary of the State Youth Congress.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Badal also appealed to Punjabis to thwart the Congress party from regaining power in the country. He said the Congress party had a single minded agenda to save the perpetrators of the 1984 genocide including Jagdish Tytler and Kamal Nath. “All Punjabis must unite to thwart the evil designs of the Congress party which is bent on protecting the Gandhi family which was directly responsible for the 1984 mass murder of 3,000 Sikhs in Delhi besides other parts of the country”, he added.
Others present on the occasion included party mp Balwinder Singh Bhundur and General secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
