London, January 18, 2019: UK Member of Parliament Tan Dhesi has said that immigration and climate change are interlinked.
Dhesi during a speech in Parliament said that there was a need to support developing countries like Maldives from climate change effects in order to keep a check on the immigration.
" If we support the developing countries which are on the verge of submergence fully or partially, this would ultimately regulate the number of people who are desperate to leave their countries and shift to our nations", said Dhesi.
Dhesi while mentioning about the Trump's decision taken in COP 24, a climate change conference of UNFCCC, said that there was a need for collective action to regulate immigration by supporting climate change initiative.
