Ferozepur January 18, 2019: Kissan Mazdoor Sangarsh Committee, Punjab have announced to hold three day’s protest from February 11, by holding a press conference in Press Club, Ferozepur, against Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira and his father former Minister, Inderjit Singh Zira with regard to Kachharbhan incident and levelling various charges against them.
It is pertinent to mention here that with the vociferous statement of Kulbir Singh Zira at the time of oath-taking ceremony of elected representatives of panchayats of the district, violating the decorum and without taking up the matter with the Chief Minister, had been suspended from the party. This action on the part of Kulbir Singh Zira has created problems for him and has not been appreciated by party leaders.
Two days’ back, Phurman Singh, Liquor Vendor has levelled charges of demanding of Rs.50 from him by Kulbir Singh Zira while Rs.15 lac had earlier been paid to him to run the liquor business in Zira constituency.
Satnam Singh Pannu, State President, KMSC, Sukhdev Sing Mand, Secretary Sahib Singh Dineke, Sukhwant Singh Lahuka, Press Secretary accused senior and junior Zira for taking possession of land with the assistance of police, embezzling of eucalyptus trees of the value of Rs.60 lac from 35 acre land of the panchayat of village Dineke besides making crores of money from the drug business.
During the Kachharbhan incident, when youth farmer Jatinder Singh only son of his father had committed suicide by showing the disrespect to the dead body which was kept outside the police station and tried to dispose of the same.
The farmers' outfits demanded an enquiry from the sitting judge of High Court and accused are punished severely. They said, in case their demands are not accepted, they will hold three days’ protest in front of the DC office.
