Barnala, January 20, 2019: AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced that his party would alone contest all the 13 Lok Sabha seats from Punjab.
Talking to mediapersons after AAP rally here, Kejriwal categorically ruled out any truck with Congress for coming Lok Sabha elections in Punjab and Delhi. He stated that that his party was strong enough in both states to fight elections on its own.
Notably, Punjab Congress has already conveyed to its high command that it was against any alliance with AAP in the state.
Earlier addressing the rally, Kejriwal was highly appreciative of the AAP MP from Sangrur, Bhagwant Mann. At the same time, he was highly critical of those leaders who have quit the party. He termed the party deserters as power hungry who were only interested in getting the party tickets to contest elections.
AAP supremo claimed that party was united in Punjab and there was no erosion of its popularity. It was cleansed after those lusting for power had left it. He called Mann as a towering leader of AAP. He flayed rivals Congress and SAD for trying to mislead people of Punjab about Punjab through false and politically-motivated propaganda.
