Congratulates AAP for ‘Sacrifice’ of Bhagwant Mann for pledge to shun alcohol
Chandigarh, January 21, 2019: The senior congress leader and Cooperation Minister, Punjab, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has extended invitation to the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the debt waiver function scheduled for January 23rd at Bathinda and January 24th at Sri Anandpur Sahib so as to make the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo see for himself the debt waiver scheme of Punjab Government. The minister has also congratulated the AAP supremo in regard with the declaration by his ‘Super MP’ Bhagwant Mann for pledging to shun alcohol.
S. Randhawa said that with the Lok Sabha elections around the corner, Arvind Kejriwal has suddenly developed love for Punjab. He also said that kejriwal should first make his stand clear on the river water issue. Divulging more, S. Randhawa said that the savior of the waters of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh during his previous tenure had made a historic decision to annul all the agreements regarding the river waters. Now, Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government has unveiled debt waiver scheme for the farmers of state in order to extricate them out of the present agricultural crisis.
Disclosing more, S. Randhawa said that the Punjab Governement has till date waived off loan worth Rs. 3452 crore of the 4.17 lakh small farmers and apart from this, 1.42 lakh more small farmers have been identified whose loan worth Rs. 1000 crore is to be waived. In this regard, a function on 23rd January would be held at Bathinda and on 24th January at Sri Anandpur Sahib. He further detailed that if kejriwal is still groping in the dark about the facts and figures of the debt waiver scheme of Punjab Government then he (S. Randhawa) himself invites AAP supremo personally to attend the debt waiver functions and be acquainted with the scheme besides making a contribution towards it.
S. Randhawa added that with Lok Sabha polls around the corner, Bhagwant Mann developed thoughts of kicking the habit of alcohol and in a lighter vein said that such a big sacrifice can only be made by Bhagwant Mann. The congress leader further said that if Bhagwant Mann wants to shun alcohol then the AAP MP can avail the services of the OOAT clinics and the State Government would take care good care of him. S. Randhawa also congratulated AAP and Bhagwant Mann for shunning alcohol
