Lahore, January 23,2019: Sikh pilgrims who visit Gurudwara Nankana Sahib could soon be facilitated as the government of Pakistan has planned an underpass to connect the Sikh shrine with Nankana Sahib railway station.
The proposed underpass will be 205 metres long and 15-16 metres wide. The project is being contemplated in the wake of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev this year.
Pakistan railway officials are expected to soon make a feasibility report for the project. Pakistan government officials also held meeting with Evacuee Property Trust Board, Pakistan railways and Pakistan education department in this regard.
Sikh pilgrims coming from across the world to visit the shrine would be able to reach the birthplace of first Sikh guru with ease.
