Construction work in progress on the road towards Indian Border
- Kartarpur Corridor : 40 % of road work completed, 300 Labourers working round the clock
- Bed of 1.10 km road has been already completed: Babar

Amritsar, February 2, 2019: The construction of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor is taking place at a rapid speed in Pakistan as 40% of this has already been completed whereas work has just begun on the Indian side of the border.
The officials of Frontier Works Association (FWO) which have the responsibility of the project completion for the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji stated that they have already completed 40% of work with construction of roads from the Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib to Indo-Pak border, an immigrant terminal and the temple’s extension.

Babar Jalandhari, the supervisor of Lahore’s Mughal steel company, which is providing the metal materials to the corridor, told during telephonic conversation that 1.10 km long road constructed from the Gurudwara Sahib to the river Ravi and a bridge on the Veyin River which forms the part of the passage have been completed.
About 300 labourers are working round the clock for constructing a bridge over the river Ravi whereas the 2.25 km long road which is being constructed from the Ravi to the international border is yet to be started.
He also informed that on the directions of federal government, the Narowal district administration has written to the government of the Pakistan’s Punjab to acquire 1076 acres of land for Kartarpur district. After this District Price Assessment Committee will determine land prices while the federal government will pay.
It has also been learnt that the state government is planning to construct a road from Sri Kartarpur Sahib to Sialkot Airport which will bridge the distance between two cities and will help Sikh devotees reach the shrine to pay obeisance there.
Gobind Singh, granthi of Narowal district’s Sri Darbar Sahib (Kartarpur Sahib) refuted the reports about alteration in the old structures of the Gurudwara. He informed that the construction was taking place without altering the original structure of the Gurudwara.

Some foreign Sikh organizations have appealed to the Pak government that it should construct hotels, rest houses and restaurants at some distance from the shrine considering the sacred significance of the place.
.Gobind Singh informed that even today organic farming was done over 104 acre land of Kartarpur Sahib and also that Pak government has purchased 1076 acres land from the nearby residents who have been shifted to other places.
