Ferozepur February 22, 2019: The Education Department has suspended five Education Volunteers/Providers for opposing the Post Test in Primary Schools under Padho Punjab Padhao Punjab Project.
The teachers under the banner of Adhyapak Sangharsh Committee Punjab had opposed the Post Test by deputing the teams in the schools and education department has sought police assistance for successful conduct of the tests. The Post Test under Padho Punjab, Padhao Punjab project being conducted from February 22 to March 11.
Today the teachers have protested the forcible tests with the assistance of police and threatening the teachers and DEO(SS) has recommended to the DEO (ES) the names of five officials – Satpal Singh of Chandiwala, Gurmej Singh of Jhugewala, Malkit Singh Jhuge Mehar Singh, Janak Singh of Wasla Mohan Ke and Boota Singh of Jhuge Santa Singh, for creating hindrance and shouting slogans to disturb the ambiance, in conduct of Post Tests.
In protests, the block Guruharsahai teachers held the protest march in the local bazaars followed by burning of Punjab government and education department officials.
Addressing the protesting teachers in good numbers, the spokesperson of the union said, th protest will continue till the temporary EGS, STR, AIE, EEV, Education Providers are not regularized by the Punjab Government. They demanded from the department to reinstate the illegally suspended teachers besides accepting their all demands.
However, the sources said, the Punjab government is already facing the financial crisis. The Centre has withdrawn the financial assistance to the Punjab government for the teachers recruited under various schemes and now after regularization, it will be a big liability of the government. This is the reason the government is not in a position to take any decision so far despite coming to power for two years and making promises to regularize the teachers.
