Ludhiana, March 02, 2019: Taking up the reins to spread the message of a clean and healthy environment the Avon CycloGreen Ride 2019 started from Kipps Market, Sarabha Nagar on Saturday, March 2, 2019. The ride began from the popular Kipps Market and ended at Punjab Agricultural University, where the CFOSE is underway. The rally was flagged off by the Mayor of Ludhiana, Balkar Sandhu. A great number of health enthusiasts participated in the ride which was led by International Cyclist Feroza Suresh.
The ride commenced at half past 8 in the morning and students from schools like Senior Secondary School Barewal, Senior Secondary School Sarabha Nagar, Jarkhar Board Public High school were among others who participated in the run.
Eminent personalities present at the event were Onkar Singh Pahwa, Rishi Pahwa and Mandeep Pahwa.
"It is always a pleasure to work to promote cycling," said Feroza Suresh. "It is very important that people are made aware of the positive impact that cycling has on human health and the environment," she added.
Around 2000 people came out and showed their support for the ride and participated in it. Others who were present at the event were Sanjeev Pahwa, Ravi Narang, Gurmeet Kular, Vicky Kular, Satnam Makkar, GD Kapoor, Ashok Kumar, Hitesh, Sanjay Sharma, Manish Ahuja, Surinder Brar, DS Chawla, BS Dhiman, Dr KB Thakur, Santosh Motwani, and Manoj Arora.
The organizers believe that this ride is a great way to create awareness about health and the environment. A number of people participated in this ride and I hope more people organize such rides and initiate using cycles.
Balkar Sandhu, Mayor Ludhiana said, "It is very encouraging to see that the youth is interested in cycling and its benefits. There are many benefits of cycling many of which improve lifestyle."
Onkar Singh Pahwa - MD, Avon Cycles said, "This year we have a very apt person to promote cycling. We are very glad that International Cyclist Feroza Suresh led the rally. She is indeed an inspiration to us all. We are always trying to do our best to get the youth involved in such important awareness programs."

Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice Chancellor Punjab Agricultural University said, "It is great to see these people working towards the betterment of the environment by promoting cycling. There is no doubt that cycles and cycling have an impact on the environment of the country as well as the economy. Not only that cycling also promotes fitness and health.
