DC Apneet Riyat reviewing arrangements at the sports stadium, Mansa on Friday
Mansa, March 22, 2019: Mansa is all set to host grand sporting event Punjab State Games U-25 Women from March 24 to March 27, 2019.
The opening ceremony will be held at Multipurpose Stadium, Nehru Memorial College, Mansa. Total 2400 women players from all the 22 districts of state will participate assisted by about 400 coaches.
Presiding over the meeting to review arrangements, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyat said that Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Punjab sports department will be the chief guest and Director Sports Amrit Kaur Gill will be guest of honor at the inaugural function.
There will be free entry for public.The district administration has distributed VIP passes wherein one person is allowed entry on each pass.
Singer Kulwinder Billa and project Raag will perform at the event. Also professional boxing matches will be held at the inaugural ceremony.
The players will be fighting it out in the matches of boxing, basketball, badminton, kabaddi, kho-kho, football, handball, wrestling, judo, volleyball, table tennis and weight lifting. The lodging facilities to all players is being provided at Mata Sundri College, Mansa. Teams from 22 districts will participate in march past at the inaugural of event.
Players will be provided lodging, food, and health facilities. Also transport facilities will be provided to the sites where matches are being held. The players are also being distributed track suits under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhaoi campaign.
Nehru Memorial College will host to badminton, judo, boxing, kabaddi, kho-kho, wrestling, weight lifting and table tennis. Similarly, the St Xavier's School Mansa Khurd will be hosting basketball matches. Khalsa School and Gandhi School will playt host to football matches, Khalsa School will plat host to handball matches and Gandhi School will play host to volleyball matches.
SDM Mansa Abhijeet Kaplish, SDM Budhlada Aditya Dhachwal, SDM Sardulgarh Latif Ahmed, DDPO Dinesh Vashisht, DSP (H) Sarabjit Singh and others were also present.
