Ludhiana, March 23, 2019: Taking the call to awaken revolutionary spirit in the drive against drugs on Martyrs Day, The Thumpers Café a Chandigarh-based riders group in association with Flicker Hoods have taken initiative to organize a pan India ride.
Named “A Ride For Drug Free India”, the enthusiastic organizers have got support from Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab Police in this endeavour. The STF has been engaging in a dedicated manner to wipe out drugs menace in Punjab.
According to Munish Kumar Soni, Abhishek Duggal and Gopal Sharma of Thumpers Cafe, the ride shall start from Ananda Apartments, Sector 82, Mohali. It will be flagged off by Gurpreet Kaur Deo, ADGP, Punjab Police at 9 am. The ride shall proceed to Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh.
Former national cricketer and now film actor Yograj Singh will be the Guest of Honour.
They have decided to organise Rang De Basanti-2019 (RDB-2019) a cultural event on March 24 at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh.
This is for the first time that RDB will be organised as pan India event simultaneously in more than 30 cities including Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Ambala, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patiala, Pune and Shimla.
The organisers claimed that over 6000 riders will be on their bikes to spread awareness of the cause against drugs and to share gratitude to the great martyrs.
This is the third consecutive year 'The Thumpers Café “is organizing RDB. It’s the increasing number of Riders and Volunteers that has motivated us to Organize RDB every year.
Thumpers Café is the biggest riding group in tri-city Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula and has over 400 riders from various professional fields as its members.
