Chandigarh, March 23,2019: Indian National Lok Dal secretary general Abhay Chautala Saturday resigned from the post of Leader of Opposition in Haryana Assembly.
The resignation of Abhay Chautala, Ellanabad MLA came seeking the disqualification of five state assembly legislators who separated their paths from INLD.
It was INLD legislator from Nalwa, Ranbir Singh Gangwa who joined BJP last day whose disqualification Chautala would sought from Haryana Speaker.
Also, four other legislators against whom Chautala would demand an action includes Naina Chautala, Anoop Dhanak, Pirthi Nambardar and Randeep Phogat — who had joined the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), a breakaway faction of the INLD.
Chautala said to the media that he would also write to the Lok Sabha speaker for the disqualification of Dushyant Chautala, who is an MP from Hisar.
Dushyant, the great-grandson of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal, formed the JJP after infighting in the Chautala family which led to a split in the INLD.
The INLD has 16 Legislators in the BJP-ruled state, while the Congress has 17.
