Mansa Police recover huge quantity of sedatives, arrest 7 persons
Mansa, March 23, 2019: As part of stepped up vigil in run up to Lok Sabha polls, the Mansa district police on Saturday made a huge recovery of medical sedatives allegedly to be used for intoxication and arrested 7 persons in two separate incidents.
SSP Mansa Gulneet Singh Khurana said that the seizures were made during special nakabandi after the police received secret information. All the accused have been booked and arrested.
During nakabandi at Ghagger Bridge, the police party recovered 26,000 Tramadol, 950 Carisoprodol tablets and 92 bottles (100 ml each) of Onerex from a white colour Accent car bearing registration number PB 43 B 0031.
Three persons identified as Gopi Singh, Prem Singh of Shansi Mohalla, Barnala and Kulwant Singh of Mullanpur Dakha near Ludhiana have been arrested.
In another case, four persons have been arrested. They have been identified as Sadhu Singh of Ward Number 4, Sardulgarh, Rubi of Rori, Haryana, Amit Chawla of Sirsa, Haryana and Nirbhay Singh of Rori, Haryana. Amit Chawla also has a residence in Delhi.
The police recovered 1,20,000 Calvidol and 2,34,000 Tridol tablets of 100 mg each.
Cases against all the accused have been registered at Police Station, Sardulgarh under NDPS Act.
