Ferozepurian Mandeep shows Bike Stunts on way to Hussainiwala on 88th Martyrdom Day
Ferozepur March 24, 2019: For the last many years, this year too on 88th Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his associates, Mandeep Singh of Ferozepur was star attraction for showing stunts by standing on a ladder, with flag of Bhagat Singh, fixed on his bike, to pay tributes to the great revolutionary leaders.
Home-grown stunt biker Mandeep Singh is Ferozepur’s pride. He is a shining example of such daredevil acts. He is as accomplished as any other worldclass stunt bikers who has been performing stunts on his 1973 Model, 44-year-old Bullet.
It may be great fun for Mandeep Singh but doing tricks is more fun for him by dedicating himself on the special historic day of martyrdom when three great revolutionary leaders – Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev - were executed in Lahore on March 23, 1931.
For Mandeep Singh, Bhagat Singh’s revolution was to organize a mass movement to uplift the exploited and suppressed sections of society which dream is yet to be fulfilled even after more than seven decades of our Independence.
Since 2007 when Mandeep started his stunt passion under the tutelage of Rattan Singh and Gurpreet Singh as Ustad, he has the number of awards to his credit for his driving by standing on the seat of the motorcycle. He is specially invited for the event on Independence and Republic Day celebrations.
Apart from this, for the last so many years, he is motivating the students about the importance of turban in Sikhism and doing socials by holding camps to pass on healthy advice to the youths to keep themselves away from drugs and social evils and work for the welfare of the society and nation.
When asked about the motorcycle looking so neat and clear with fine-tuning, he said, I love my bike more than anything else and clean it daily besides maintaining its wear and tear from time to time, to give the best performance.
He said we should remain connected with our rich legacy so that it is passed on to the next generation.
Mandeep is disheartened from the system as he is yet to settle in his life to stand on his own feet because of fewer job opportunities in the market.
