PM telling lies on Kerala govt over false implication of people: CPI (M)
Kannur, Apr 20 :: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Friday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of 'lying,' by saying that the CPI(M)-led LDF government in Kerala was implicating people in false cases, if they uttered the name of God.
Addressing a press conference here, CPI (M) Kerala Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that Mr Modi was trying to mislead the people, especially the devotees, while portraying the Kerala government as taking an anti-believer stance.
On Thursday, while addressing the Vijay Sankalp rally organised at Thiruvananthapuram in support of BJP candidates, the Prime Minister had said, "The situation in Kerala is that one cannot even utter the name of God. The CPI (M) government is implicating people in false cases."
Mr Kodiyeri said that not even a single case has been registered against devotees for uttering the name of God. Legal procedures were initiated only against those, who indulged in assaults over the Sabarimala issue, he added.
The CPI (M) leader also asked whether Mr Modi, who was now calling himself a 'chowkidar', was sleeping for the last 12 years, when the young women's entry issue at Sabarimala was under the consideration of the Supreme Court.Agency
