New Delhi, May 12, 2019 - President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday cast his vote at a polling booth in the Rashtrapati Bhawan here.
The National Capital's 1.43 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise at 13,800 polling stations for seven Lok Sabha constituencies of Delhi, in what is seen as a three-way contest between the newbie Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress.
Polling in Chandni Chowk, East Delhi, New Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi (SC), South Delhi and West Delhi - commenced at 0700 hrs and will end at 1800 hrs.
Elaborate security is in place at every polling station across the National Capital.
The electorate -- 7.8 crores male and 6.4 crore women -- will decide the fate of 164 candidates in the seven Parliamentary Constituencies. In several polling booths across the National Capital, voters had reached before 0700 hrs.
