Raja Warring poses tough challenge to SAD in Bathinda
By Amrit Pal Brar
Bathinda, 12 May: The SAD-BJP candidate Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who has defeated Congress nominee Manpreet Singh Badal, now a Finance Minister in the Capt Amarinder Singh government in 2014 in Bathinda Parliamentary constituency, is now facing a tough challenge on the seat from former IYC President and MLA Raja Warring.
This Constituency will go to poll on 19 May.
Congress candidate, Manpreet Singh Badal have lost this seat in 2014 by narrow margin of 19000 votes, earlier in 2009 Congress candidate Raninder Singh lost by 1, 20,000 votes. But this time Raja Warring, a young face of the Congress is posing a stiff challenge to Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal whom SAD BJP has repeated third time again from Bathinda.
Both elections in 2009 and 2014 were held under the tenure of the SAD BJP government led by Parkash Singh Badal. Now, Congress party is heading the state government led by Capt Amarinder Singh.
Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has carried out some important development works in the constituency during her tenure.
Development works like beautification of the city, Ring Road, Air connectivity to Delhi and Jammu, Shatabaddi Train from Bathinda to Delhi, AIIMS and Central University at Ghuda give an edge to Union Minister Harsimrat Badal while Raja Warring is playing emotional card to win this prestigious seat by projecting this fight between a commoner and mighty family of Punjab and he also portrays his orphan childhood.

According to independent observers, he is successful in delivering this message among masses and his narrative is paying dividends and he is pulling big crowds in the urban and rural areas. After, he finishes his speeches in rural areas; women’s comes to him and bless him.
Farmers, youth and small traders are particularly disappointed with the central government led by BJP. Many of them have suffered massive losses to their businesses due to demonetization and faulty implementation of the GST and its subsequent complications.
Raja Warring says “It’s a fight between a commoner and the most powerful family of the state headed by a five time chief minister Parkash Singh Badal with vast resources”. Confidently, he says “We have snatched Gidderbaha, a seat represented by them for 47 years and now we will corner them here in Bathinda lok Sabha”. People are annoyed with them due to non-governance and bargari sacrilege issues. We are getting huge response everywhere and we will certainly get the peoples mandate “says Raja Warring.
Today, Raja Warring addressed enthused gatherings in the villages of Lambi constituency. He addressed first meeting at chappianwali.
