Counter Intelligence nabs two drug peddlers with heroin
Ferozepur, June 12, 2019: Counter Intelligence team members of Ferozepur and Fazlka in a joint operation nabbed two persons with heroin while one managed to escape.
Divulging with details, Ajay Saluja, Assistant Inspector General Counter Intellgence Ferozepur said, on June 11, 2019, in a joint operation by the team headed by Sukhdev Singh DSP CI, suspecting the three persons boarded in a car No.PB-05-AK-6171 near Chak Megha Viran village on Ferozepur-Fazilka road, signalled them to stop. When they tried to frisk away by speeding up the car but the police party overpowered them by putting their own vehicles in front of their vehicles.
He further said, two of them were nabbed while one managed to escape. In the scuffle, one cops Amardeep Singh – namely was seriously injured when Harjinder Sigh son of Balwant Singh hit with the brick lying on the road. The police was successful in nabbing the two identified as Harjinder Singh alias Kalakar of Alfuke under Lakho Ke Behram PS and Lakhbir Singh son of Tara Singh of Gandhu Kilcha Uttar under Mamdot PS. The third who managed to escape was identified as Harjinder Singh son of Balwant Singh of Gandhu Kilcha.
AIG informed that during the search operation, two plastic envelopes of 250 each, total 1 kg, of heroin were recovefed from Harjinder Singh and Lakhbir Singh hide under the shirt with yellow colour cloth on the waist.
A case under Section 307, 353, 332, 333, 186 IPC at Fazilka police station.
During the preliminary investigation, the alleged accused have admitted that the heroin consignment has been brought from Indo-Pak border BSF DT Mal Post area, concealed in the gear-box of the tractor. The third accused will be arrested shortly and further investigations are on to ascertain their links with the smugglers and suppliers.
