Fatehgarh Sahib. June.12, 2019: All the 301 villages falling in the district will be covered under State Government’s Smart Village Scheme and the overall development of the villages will be ensured at the cost of Rs.27 crore, said Dr. Prashant Kumar Goyal, Deputy Commissioner, while presiding over the meeting called up to review the ongoing developmental projects related with this scheme.
Elaborating the scheme, DC said that under this scheme the developmental projects in the village like laying of sewerage system, development of the village ponds, recarpeting of streets and roads, construction of parks, playgrounds, stadiums, Gymnasiums, installation of the CCTV cameras, bus shelters, development of the cremation grounds, water supply, community library, waste management, development of the schools and civil dispensaries etc. are the part of this scheme.
DC said that on priority the cleanliness of village ponds will be initiated, so that the people may not face problems like water stagnation. Moreover the ponds would be filled with clean water that would be further used for the irrigation purpose. He said that the instructions have already been issued to the concerned officials for the timely completion of the ongoing projects under this scheme. He said that no compromise with the quality of the projects would be tolerated.
