JALANDHAR, June 18, 2019 (By SK.Vyas ) – A total of 29301 children between 0-5 years of age were administrated polio drops by the health teams on the last day of a three-day polio drive started on June 16.
Giving details, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajesh Bagga told that during the drive today, 1089 health teams administered polio drops to 24158 children in urban and 5143 children in rural areas.
He said that a total of teams were formed for this purpose and 152 supervisors were deputed to carry out the drive. Front line health workers including ASHA, Multiple Health Workers, college students and others took part in the drive, he added.
Dr Bagga added that District Epidemiologist Dr. Satish Kumar and Urban Nodal Officer Dr. Priyanka Bhandari checked the drive in Chuggiti, Ladhewali, railway stations in the city and cantonment and slums surrounding.
The Civil Surgeon said that the migratory population residing in slums and brick kilns was especially covered in this drive.
