Jalandhar, July 17, 2019: In its drive special drive under ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ against the vector-borne diseases, the anti-larva cell of the health Department on Wednesday detected cases of 35 dengue larva in 13 localities in the city.
On the directions of Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinder Kaur Chawla and Epidemiologist Dr. Satish Kumar, separate teams of anti-larva cell led by Kulwinder Singh, Pawan Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Sarabjit, Amanpreet Singh, Pawan Kumar, Dharam Raja, Gurvinder Singh, Daljit Singh, Satwant Singh, Kamaldeep and Mr. Rajwinder Singh undertook checking in Dakoha, Ajit Nagar, Saipur, Dada Colony, Garha, Basti Sheikh, Chak Jindan, Deep Nagar, Gurbachan Nagar, Madhuban Colony, Basti Danishmandan, Model House and Gyne Ward in Civil Hospital.
During the checking, the teams visited 662 houses, checked 981 waste containers and 287 desert coolers.The teams held detailed interaction with the people and apprised them that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes. They said that the special inspection was a part of the drive under ‘Tandarust Punjab’s mission to ensure that vector-borne diseases were checked well in advance.
