Now new Passports are printed and dispatched on the day of applying : Munish Kapoor
Ferozepur, July 20, 2019: In this high-tech era when every Punjabi is aspirant to fly abroad and settle there for which they are supposed to have Indian Passport - the basic requirement.
In historical city Amritsar only, as many as 1100 are daily appointments at PSK Amritsar and in border town Ferozepur around 100 appointments at recently opened POSPK.
Exchanging the information to Babushahi.com on phone from Amrisar, Munish Kapoor, Passport Office informed, the entire staff in the Passport Office has been geared up on account of showing enthusiasm among the people in applying for issuance of passport.
He informed that now there is no need of police verification if the applicant is a government employee or he is applying for renewal well before its expiry date.
With the availability of modern hi-tech infrastructure, he said, in such cases, the passport is printed and dispatched on the same day.
He said, the work in the passport office has been speed-up and data is updated every step systematically to avoid any inconvenience to the people. Most of the old files have been closed so that they could apply afresh after completing the required formalities as per the latest instructions. Apart from this in certain cases, the applicants are asked to complete the documentation by making back calls and collect their passport, he added.
Where no police verification is required, the passports are being dispatched to the applicants on the day of applying and in police enquiry cases, only a week’s time enough for issuing the passport, said Kapoor.
Further sharing a case of issuing the new passport to Member Parliament Gurjit Singh Aujla, within a period of one hour, Munish Kapoor said, it is an precedent in the history of passport office,and the credit goes to the entire team working in the passport office which deserves appeciation.
