New Delhi, 22 July, 2019: Attorney General of India KK Venugopal and Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta, on Monday released a book titled Singapore Indian Legal System – A comparative study, authored by Punjab and Haryana High Court Lawyer Harpreet Sandhu, in Supreme Court office.
The Attorney General applauded the efforts of Sandhu for initiating research study.
The foreword of the book is given by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, mentioning therein, that the “The author attempts to come out with a book of comparative study of Singapore legal system and court functioning, which is a laudable effort which will provide Indian students handy material to compare the functioning of Singapore and Indian legal systems. The timely bringing out of this publication will further strengthen legal ties between the nations”.
In June 2019 the book was launched in the Parliament of Singapore and the first edition of book was presented to Tan Chaun Jin, Speaker of Singapore Parliament.
Lim Puay Ling, Research Department, Parliament of Singapore, said the book will be of immense use for both the nations in domain of law.
The High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Singapore Jawed Ashraf also applauded the book.
